 +===== Student Code of Conduct=====

 +The Student Code of Consult sets out expectations for student behaviour towards the Heartwood Community (students, staff and those who have a working relationship with Heartwood Education).
 +The purpose of this Student Code of Conduct is to promote a respectful and supportive culture, free from bullying, discrimination and harassment. Our staff and students share the responsibility for promoting and fostering an inclusive and supportive environment.
 +
 +Students have a responsibility to familiarise themselves and implement Heartwood’s Student Code of Conduct. The Student Code of Conduct is to be applied to all communications, including, but not limited to, in-person, written and virtual communications. The code of conduct applies to communications within Heartwood Learning Environment, external communications (such as social), and when an individual is representing Heartwood Education in any way and in a manner which may bring Heartwood Education into disrepute.
 +
 +At Heartwood Education, the following are expected as the minimum standards of student behaviour:
 +  * We will treat all those we come into contact with the utmost respect at all times.
 +  * We aspire to never treat anyone differently on the basis of any protected class or characteristic.
 +  * We will never sexually, physically, or verbally harass anyone.
 +  * To the best of our ability we will seek to ensure the physical, mental, emotional, and spiritual safety and well-being of everyone we come into contact with during our studies by using non-threatening, non-sexual, and non-judgmental language and behaviours.
 +  * We will abide by the laws of the land, policies, and regulations.
 +  * We will raise matters of concern in a timely, constructive and appropriate manner.
 +  * We will modify our behaviour should we become aware that we have not adhered to the Code of Conduct, even if no complaint has been made.
 +
 +REPORTING BREACHES TO THE CODE OF CONDUCT
 +Individuals who have experienced or witnessed inappropriate behaviour by other students should raise their concerns promptly. Concerns should be raised to your Course Leader. In cases where this is inappropriate, you should raise your concerns with the Director of Studies or the General Manager.
 +Decisions on any sanctions will be based on, but are not limited to, the severity of the violation, situation, strength of evidence, attitudes toward the process, and past actions, with removal from studies being the last resort.
